Winter feedback summary has been published

The summary of this winter's client feedback has been published. It is based on the questionnaire filled in by 85 persons who joined our week-long tours. The average of all 13 questions was 4,74 on the scale 1 - 5. The summary as well as some client testimonials can be read here.

A new self-drive tour for families

For the next summer we offer a new self-drive holidays for families. The program is especially designed with kids in mind but there is a lot for the adults to enjoy too! Highlights of the trip include meeting Santa, time to play in and enjoy the Angry Birds Activity Park Vuokatti and a ride with “Husky Mercedes”. Depending on your preferred family activities, you can also go hiking, canoeing or fishing.

A new date for "Off the trails " -snowshoeing tour

Due to high demand we have opened a new group for "Off the trails" -snowshoeing tour. The dates are from March 10 to 16 and the departure is guaranteed. All other guaranteed departures of February and March are already fully-booked. Further details on the tour here.

A new tour - White wonders of Rokua Geopark

We are presenting a new 6-day winter multiadventure holiday taking place in striking Rokua Geopark area. The week consists of different winter activities - snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, a husky safari and igloo buidling are common for everybody and the last day day is meant for optional activities. Accommodation will be at a small and cosy Hotel Rokuanhovi. The airport transfers will be organized from / to Oulu airport so for this tour it is possible to make use of Oulu airport's good international connections.
"White wonders of Rokua Geopark" is organized on request for groups, min. 2 persons.

Feb17th snowshoeing departure fully-booked

"Off the trails" -snowshoeing departure on February 17th is completely fully-booked. For other dates, Feb 10th and March 3rd, we still have availability.

Summary of the customer feedback

Changes of guaranteed dates in winter 2013

Due to changes of flight schedules to Kuusamo next winter we have been obliged to change some guaranteed departure dates.

Changes affect following tours:
- Off the trails -snowshoeing
- Ski tour on the Russian border
- Kalevala Ski Tour
- Upi's Special -ski tour

Depending on the tour all dates or some of the dates have changed. New departure dates can be seen on "availability" page or in tour descriptions.

A guided hiking tour is an easy and safe way to explore the Finnish wilderness. You walk with a skilled guide and up to 11 like-minded hikers from different countries. You don't need to worry about accommodation or meals - everything is taken care of for you. The luggage is also transported from place to place so it is enough to carry a day pack during the hiking.
Our guaranteed hiking departures take place in August when temperatures are comfortable for hiking and the worst mosquito period is over. At the moment we have availability for all guaranteed departure dates.

Winter feedback published

We have again collected feedback from our customers during this winter season. The summary of the feedback as well as some client testimonials can now be read here. Once again it seems that our guides have done a great job! Questions "staff willingness to serve" and "staff expertise" were the ones that scored the highest average (4,89 and 4,92 on the scale 1 - 5).

Estonian air starts flying to Kajaani

The straight connection between Kajaani and Estonian Air’s hub in Tallinn operates 4 times per week starting 3rd April.
From Tallin there is a good connectivity eg. to London, Amsterdam, Hannover, Moscow and Copenhagen and to several other cities in Scandinavia and Eastern Europe.

A new self-guided canoeing tour

For next summer Upitrek offers a new self-guided canoeing tour in the national hiking area of Hossa which was voted as a “Hiking destination of the year 2011” in Finland.
The tour takes place mostly in calm waterways and few rapids along the route are quite small so the tour is considered easy to moderate.
In evenings you will be able to enjoy light summer nights around the camp fire in the beautiful wilderness before heading to your tent for the night.
